7 Ways to Help Nature

Taking care of nature has been something I am absolutely passionate about for a long time now. I have always been gutted about unnecessary use of plastic materials. Starting of as an animal lover, I was opened to a ton of issues and problems that we, humans, have caused.

One of my year's resolution is to really be active in taking part of this movement, and I've been putting this off way too long, but I finally had the courage to share it. Having my blog as a platform is an opportunity I would gladly take to raise awareness and entice people to do these few impactful but very simple steps to help mother nature.

1. Bottles and Tumblers

May it be at school or whilst running some errands for my mum, I always make sure to have my water bottle with me to keep me hydrated. Totally saved so much plastic than always buying water outside. #Tip: If your in a coffee shop, better ask them if it's possible to put your drinks a mug instead of their usual plastic/paper cups.

2. Towel Dry your Hair

This is something I don't have a problem doing since I am a person who doesn't bother picking up a blow dryer after taking a shower. Surprisingly, most people, especially those who are in a hurry to get to work or school often use hair dryers instead of air drying their hair. Waking up 10 minutes earlier than usual would let you towel dry your hair, save electricity, help nature and help your hair's nourishment as well. Say hitting two birds with one stone.

3. Reusable Straws

If you're someone who eats out a lot, you might wanna try using reusable straws to cut your usual plastic consumption. Luckily, a couple of months ago, I found out about Sip, a Philippine-based company that sells stainless straws and wooden cutlery with a passionate aim to help save our environment from further plastic toxic. Bringing Stainless or Glass straws around with you everyday

4. Walk or Cycle More

You've probably heard of this for the hundredth time but trust me it really helps reduce pollution and lets you be a bit more active as well. Personally, I am a fast and great walker, but if you're not a fan of walking and sweating, then maybe you could try cruising in your skateboards, cruisers and scooters, even your old roller blades could come handy as well.

5. Donating over Throwing

Whether you're planning declutter you closet or maybe just want a change of wardrobe, you should avoid throwing clothes right away, instead, sort them out to see which pieces could still donated to charity. Anyways, clothing stores such as H&M and Uniqlo are giving discounts in return of clothing donations, so feel free to drop your old clothes rather than throwing them away.

6. Canvas Bags

Bringing eco-bags when going to the market or even using bayong for my fellow Filipinos out there, makes a MASSIVE difference than using separate plastic bags for different stores when you can just put them in a single eco-friendly bag. Canvas bags as a fashion trend is also something I'm very grateful for, since it made reusable bags be easily purchased anywhere.

7. AVOID PLASTIC at all times

Basically the biggest point of this post. SWITCH ANY PLASTIC you use to a more environmental-friendly material such as a wooden comb, wooden toothbrush, wooden hangers and clothespin. There's so much more plastic in your life you don't realize are unnecessary. So do everything you can to reduce your carbon footprint.
