The Map That Leads To You by J.P. Monninger

Heather Mulgrew's world is already mapped out: she is going to travel abroad with her friends after college, come back to a great career in September, and head into a life where not much is left to chance. But that was before an encounter on an overnight train introduces her to Jack, a passionate adventurer who changes the course of her journey and her life.

Throwing Heather's careful itinerary to the wind, they follow Jack's grandfather's journal through post-World War II era Europe: Vienna, Budapest, Turkey-exotic places that serve only to heighten their feelings. As September looms, Jack urges Heather to stay with him, to keep travelling, to give in to the romance of their experience; Heather convinces him to return to the United States.

Jack has a secret that could change everything. And Heather's world is about to be shaken to the core.

Review:

You know the kind of stories that surely your hearts will remember for a loooong time? This is it.

First of all, this has quickly climbed to be my most favourite romance novel of all time the very moment I finished reading the last words on the last page, removed my bookmark and closed the book. Straight up top.

So to begin, I honestly don't even know how to take it all in because the ending was something that every person would take differently, I feel like? Although, I don't consider it specifically an open ended story. As for me, I am this affected by this particular book because other than the fact that I'm a insanely emotional person who cries at everything, is that every single time I try to visualize a story line in my head, it ALWAYS goes down to a path very similar to this.

Another thing about this novel is that it gives you a very warm feeling about travelling because it gives such details about their adventures  across Europe that makes you visualize yourself seeing the same things, and feeling the same things the characters do. If that makes any sense. Although, I would admit that I had a slow start reading this book but something about it made me kept reading until I got hooked. I also liked how the part two of the novel was focused on Heather and unfolding the questions left. Those last part? Yeah, you cannot drop the book anymore.

101% recommending you to go and find this book and read it. I may not be the best book review writer but trust me on this.
