Sunnies Face | Behind the Aesthetic

13 January

Sunnies is a brand that's been making a buzz around the world this past year. Catching people's attention for their extensive range of products in the market. Initially known for their chic and trendy sunglasses known as Sunnies Studios, doing a really great job on making their name known.

As an extension of their successful launch, the brand now confidently ventured into prescription eyewear by opening their first shop last 2016, followed by the big jump into the food industry by introducing us to Sunnies Cafe.

By this time, Sunnies already established a strong brand and have thrivingly placed their name on the top of the line. Instead of stopping at their success, the company cut their way through another lifestyle industry, introducing us Sunnies Face. A brand that quickly climb it's way to my must-haves.

Sunnies Face's Fluffmatte Lipsticks by far are the best matte lipsticks I've ever tried, and that is comparing it with high-end brands I used to love. Adorable minimalist packaging aside, their bomb both because of their shades which beautifully enhances the natural colour of my lips and its formula that aren't in any way drying and are actually very weightless when worn.

Their Lip Dip on the other hand gave us a liquid lipstick that could double as a lip tint  due to its buildable nature, and has a very whipped and airy formula that is comfortably light on the lips and not to mention a very fragrant scent I very much appreciated.

The newest line and in my opinion a great addition to their integral lipstick line is the AirBlush, which is their soft-focus cheek tint. They are again very light on the first touch as well as on the skin. It handed a new grip to the trend of liquid cheek tints by staying true to the classic form of a cream blush. Packaging-wise, I also think is perfect as it comes with a functional mirror.

Sunnies Face may be in line with the company's signature aesthetic but also brought a timely aspect the industry badly needs to be exposed to. Behind giving us these instagramable backgrounds nobody would've guess were just cafe/retail stores serving food and selling eyewear & make-up, they have served us competitive products that clearly did not disappoint. And what made them the best ones? It's their stand to for being a cruelty-free brand.

"Beauty that gets you is beauty that makes you feel exactly the way you want to."

I am very vocal about transitioning to cruelty-free brands, not just for my love of animals but because it's ethical. I've adored and supported massive brands who tests on animals because of their quality products, but doing so is technically the same as funding and enabling them to harm.

If beauty makes me feel the way I want to, then I would definitely make sure to support and enjoy brands that takes a stand for a change. Cheers to our steps towards a more healthy lifestyle!
